My goal is always to tell a story about the subject. Sometimes that is done with an object that means something to the person or photographing them in a meaningful setting. Regardless of where the photo is taken, my goal is to capture a fleeting expression that's unique to that person.

Understanding someone and capturing a few details that define who they are takes time. When I can, I'll spend an hour or two getting to know someone before scheduling a portrait shoot.
